Our Mission The Education, Research, Training (ERT) Section provides resources and support for practitioners, educators, students, trainers, community activists, and administrators in the fields of peace and conflict resolution. We support members of the ACR regarding activities in Pre-K-12 through higher education settings and outside of formal education settings. Education, Research and Training is at the heart ACR’s mission and provides a professional framework for mediators, arbitrators, ombudsman, negotiators, and peace makers. Work of the ERT Section The Education, Research, Training (ERT) Section is working in many directions, thanks to the dedication of its volunteers from around the world! Our section is led by an Executive Committee that represents each of the areas covered under the Education, Research and Training umbrella. K-12 Education is represented by David J. Smith (Maryland), Higher Education by Dr. Juliette Shedd (Virginia), Research is represented by Elisabeth Salzgeber (Colorado), Brandi Munoz (Texas) is the section's Diversity and Equity representative. On behalf of the Association for Conflict Resolution Executive Board, the ERT Section organizes and plans online workshops throughout the year and section activities at the Annual ACR Conference which includes Youth Day, the William J. Kreidler Award, as well as Section Sponsored Workshops and Meetings throughout the conference.
